A
Swindon-born initiative which started two years
ago has become an international success.
The Tranquillity Zone, which is run by the Bahá'ís
of Swindon, has been launched at a women’s
European conference in Italy.
Fidelma Meehan, one of the project’s organisers,
presented the project to more than 40 Bahá'í
representatives from all over Europe.
Fidelma, of Tower Road, Peatmoor, said: "I
was asked to give a talk on the Tranquillity Zone
to more than 40 people and they were all very
impressed with the idea."
Among the countries represented were Italy, Germany,
Norway, Spain, France, Greece, Ireland, Portugal
and Switzerland.
The Tranquillity Zone is a community project
which was started by the Bahá'ís
of Swindon in 1998.
Fidelma added: "The main aim of our project
is to raise spiritual awareness and provide spiritual
nourishment for the people of our town."
