Discovering Spirituality
with the Bahá'í Faith

Evening Advertiser, Tuesday January 16th 2001

Inner peace amid the frentic lifestyle of one of Europe’s most prosperous towns is there for the taking at Swindon College.

So say members of the Bahá'í Faith, organisers of a course called Discover Your Own Spirituality. Bahá'ís follow a belief system stressing the unity of all humans under a single God, but the course is not a religious one and all are welcome.

Students will be invited to read writings by Bahá'u'lláh, who founded the Faith in the 19th century, and to contemplate spiritual matters.

Swindon Bahá'í spokeswoman, Fidelma Meehan, said about the course: "It is about trying to discover ways of becoming more spiritual in this materialistic world, and about finding spiritual nourishment.

"It is about trying to reach and get to know our own true potential.

"We are sharing very uplifting words that people might like to explore."

The Faith, whose Swindon adherents run regular Tranquillity Zone sessions in which members of the public are invited to take time out of their busy life to relax amid candlelight and gentle music, has several million members worldwide.
