A Project for the
Empowerment of Young People

The Swindon Youth Empowerment Project started in January 2001 and is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), the Partnership Development Fund, Connexions and the Bahá’ís of Swindon. The main aim of the project is the empowerment of young people to assist them in a process of self-discovery, and help them to develop an empowering sense of purpose, personal responsibility and community service. The project has exceeded all expectations for helping groups of young people overcome their low self-esteem and placing them on a path to empowerment and becoming capable of service to others. We believe that once the potential of this project is fully utilised it can be a powerful tool for addressing many of the problems our youth face today.
