Morning Prayers

 

Bahá'ís are encouraged to pray at least once a day, and once every month they meet on a Sunday morning, to pray together. It is an opportunity for collective worship open to anyone who wishes to attend. After the prayers the particpants enjoy a nice hearty breakfast together.

The Bahá'í Writings contain many prayers for a variety of purposes. There are prayers for thanksgiving, assistance with tests, healing, guidance, children, spiritual growth, unity, forgiveness… the list could be much, much longer! Most of these prayers were written by Bahá'u'lláh, founder of the Bahá'í Faith, and ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, his son.
